About this position
Pastor of Worship & Production – Heritage (Knoxville, TN)
Heritage is seeking a Pastor of Worship & Production—a visionary, creative, and collaborative leader who will shape the worship culture of the church and help people encounter God with clarity and conviction. This full-time pastoral role provides oversight for worship and production, leading the planning and execution of weekly services and special events while shepherding musicians, vocalists, and creative volunteers with excellence, care, and purpose.
Key Responsibilities
The Pastor of Worship & Production collaborates weekly with the Lead Pastor and Executive Staff to evaluate previous services and plan what’s ahead; facilitates creative brainstorming and participates in weekly planning meetings to align music, video, transitions, and service elements; builds detailed service plans at least four weeks in advance and leads weekly rehearsals to strengthen service flow; develops the worship ministry through 2–3 annual workshops, introduces new songs monthly, and keeps the team current on worship trends and strategies; recruits, auditions, trains, and shepherds worship team members while cultivating a healthy, accountable culture; schedules band members and vocalists a month in advance, distributes charts/stems/setlists weeks ahead of rehearsal, and communicates weekly notes that clarify vision and expectations; leads ongoing evaluation to maintain a high standard and measure ministry impact; and supports worship production needs by troubleshooting audio and working confidently in tools like ProPresenter, Ableton/Playback, Planning Center Services, PraiseCharts, and CCLI/SongSelect.
Qualifications
Successful candidates will have proven experience leading worship teams and bands, strong vocal and musical ability (guitar and/or keyboard preferred), and the sound judgment to lead well under pressure while navigating transitions and service flow. The role requires high organizational skill with a commitment to structure and accountability; clear, collaborative communication; a heart for developing volunteers and raising up leaders; technical comfort in live production environments; and a deep passion for building and growing the local church.
Why Join Heritage?
This is an opportunity to lead worship in a church that values both spiritual authenticity and thoughtful excellence. You’ll serve alongside a pastoral team committed to helping people engage deeply, and you’ll have the privilege of equipping musicians, vocalists, and creative volunteers to use their gifts with joy—shaping services that are intentional, compelling, and Christ-centered.
