  • Position: Worship Pastor
Worship is at the heart of God and therefore must be at the heart of the Church. We believe this individual is the WORSHIP pastor but must also be the worship PASTOR. This individual is responsible for the organizational leadership of the worship department as well as serving as the primary worship leader on Sunday mornings. The Worship Pastor leads a team of full/part-time employees, as well as a large volunteer team. Roles: ⦁ Personal Devotion Purpose: The most significant responsibility is to nurture their own spiritual relationship. This is crucial as it’s what they minister out of. ⦁ Sunday Experience Purpose: Prepare and execute a worship set designed to lead others into the presence of God. Responsibilities: ⦁ Current Sunday experiences responsibilities include: ⦁ Creating a worship Moment ⦁ Designing and executing the musical worship experience ⦁ Stage design ⦁ Special Music ⦁ Team Building Purpose: For musicians/singers to grow spiritually and skillfully so that there is both spiritual authenticity and musical excellence on the platform. Responsibilities: ⦁ Current team building responsibilities include: ⦁ Auditions ⦁ Worship Workshops ⦁ Recruiting ⦁ Connecting and building network in the Twin Cities ⦁ Building relationships with students who will be future worship leaders, directors, or pastors and cultivating their gifts and talents. ⦁ Worship Culture Purpose: Creating a (community based) worship culture on the worship team so that it builds stronger community, relationships, and hospitality. Responsibilities: ⦁ Current worship responsibilities include: ⦁ Sunday morning team huddles ⦁ Green room hospitality ⦁ Monthly lunch meetings with team members ⦁ Teaching moments after rehearsal ⦁ Weekly check-up meetings with music director, worship associate, youth and kids worship leaders ⦁ Team Development Purpose: Consistently develop, cultivate, and steward musicians/singers to reach their full potential so that they can grow their gifts, talents, and abilities in worship. Responsibilities: ⦁ Current musical production needs: ⦁ Audio/production team planning ⦁ Scheduling musicians ⦁ Managing tracks on Ableton ⦁ Manage and Facilitate weekly RECAP meetings for audio/production. ⦁ Creating order of service plans ⦁ Creating live arrangements of special songs Qualifications and Experience: ⦁ Deep and authentic relationship with Jesus Christ. ⦁ Alignment with Cedar Valley Church’s core beliefs with an understanding of primary and secondary issues. ⦁ Theological competency as it applies to this role and level of spiritual leadership. ⦁ 5+ years of leading a worship department preferred ⦁ Experience of working with a Music Director. ⦁ Professional level of vocal and musical instrument performance. ⦁ Ability to communicate musical ideas effectively. ⦁ Ability to communicate music in “The Nashville Numbers System.” ⦁ Working ability to use Multi-tracks, Ableton, MacOS, iOS, Outlook, Google Docs, and Microsoft teams. ⦁ History of successfully managing a budget. ⦁ Manage CCLI and other relevant licensing necessary to the function of a church service.   • Position: Worship Pastor
The Music Director develops, plans, administers and leads the music ministries of the church to ensure that worship continues to grow in scope and excellence to the glory of God and in harmony with the church's mission statement. Specific Responsibilities: 1. Discipleship a. Direct the planning, coordination, operation and evaluation of a comprehensive music ministry. b. Plan the music content of all worship gatherings and other special events in partnership with the Lead Pastor c. Lead the congregation in a worship gathering that glorifies God, recognizes His presence and celebrates His worth. d. Ensure that all lyrics used are theologically sound and Gospel centered. 2. Outreach a. Plan, coordinate, and conduct music related outreach events for the community. b. Personally witness to the lost on a regular basis. 3. Inreach a. Minister to Music ministry volunteers who are sick, hospitalized, or in crisis. Provide counsel, comfort and encouragement to those who are suffering and to their family members. b. Provide, as needed, music for church funerals and weddings or other church events, such as Women’s and Men’s ministry events. 4. Leadership Development Recruit, train and oversee individuals with the spiritual maturity, gifts, and talents to serve in the church’s music ministry. 5. Administration a. Develop and manage the annual budget for the music ministry. b. Be responsible for the maintenance, care, and addition of music, musical instruments, production lighting, sound and all related equipment. c. Ensure compliance with copyright laws as it relates to the music ministries 6. Technology a. Proficient in Ableton b. Proficient in ProPresenter 7. Personal Growth a.   • Position: Worship and Media Pastor
Position Summary: The Worship and Media Pastor shall be responsible for planning, coordinating, and leading the worship services, media presentations and music programs offered by the church. This position requires a balance of time and attention to worship, music, media and pastoral duties and responsibilities. The Worship and Media Pastor must also demonstrate a sensitive cooperative spirit and willingness to join with other pastoral team members to accomplish the total ministry and purpose of the church. Responsibilities:
  1. Worship a. Shall be sensitive to the leading of the Holy Spirit in helping the church praise and worship God b. Develop a worship environment that will lead people into a growing relationship with Jesus Christ c. Create worship experiences that will appeal to existing church family as well as unchurched and de-churched individuals d. Plan, promote, and implement creative presentations at appropriate times during the church year in consultation with the Lead Pastor e. Plan and lead the musical and creative parts of worship services and opportunities of the church in consultation with the Lead Pastor f. Evaluate the worship experiences and opportunities of the church, set worship goals and objectives, and make recommendations for improvement to the Lead Pastor
  2.  Music a. Recruit individuals with musical interests, and develop programs and opportunities for them to serve and praise God by using their talents and skills b. Direct and lead regular rehearsals of participants in the music program and creative ministries c. Responsible for developing age-appropriate music programs, encouraging participation, and recruiting leaders to assist in these programs d. Develop the musical and creative talents of individuals and groups by offering training opportunities and lessons when appropriate e. Create a community of care and support within the worship team and choir
  3. Media a. Responsible for all media presentations of the church using visual, sound, and other technical resources b. Manages the design and preparation of church communication materials including daily, weekly, monthly, and annual communication forms and methods c. Responsible for the design, development, and continual maintenance of the church website, social media, and other church media d. Responsible for the care and upkeep of all musical instruments and sound and media equipment.
  4. Pastoral a. Coordinate with other members of the Pastoral team in developing members' spiritual gifts and talents b. Participate in staff meetings, leadership retreats, and provide evaluation and feedback to the staff c. Serve as a member of committee(s), teams, and groups as agreed upon with the Lead Pastor d.
