Executive Pastor – Vertical Church (Fort Branch, IN)
Vertical Church is seeking an Executive Pastor—a high-capacity leader with a pastor’s heart and a strategic, team-building mindset—to help advance the mission of “Making More and Better Disciples of Jesus Christ.” This role partners closely with the Lead Pastor to strengthen the church’s people, systems, and ministries so the church can grow with health, clarity, and gospel-centered momentum.
Key Responsibilities
The Executive Pastor joins and supports the Lead Pastor helping lead Vertical Church. This position includes sharing or assuming direct oversight over various ministries as needed and as agreed upon by both the Lead Pastor and the Executive Pastor. He will be a high-capacity leader who builds teams to ensure the success of Vertical Church. Success is defined as a growing church fulfilling the vision of making more and better disciples of Jesus Christ.
Qualifications
Successful candidates will demonstrate a growing relationship with Jesus Christ and a clear alignment with Vertical Church’s mission, vision, values, and statement of faith. The ideal leader brings proven effectiveness in administration, team leadership, and managing multiple direct reports; is reliable, trustworthy, detail-oriented, and able to lead with discretion, sensitivity, and confidentiality; embraces innovation and adapts well to change; builds healthy relationships with pastors, leaders, and volunteers; and can teach in both large and small-group settings—helping people at every spiritual level take their next step. Preferred candidates will have 5+ years of ministry experience and demonstrated strength in leading people and organizing ministry operations.
