Job Title: Worship Pastor
Location: Temple Freewill Baptist Church, Winterville, NC
Role Overview: The Music Ministry Director is responsible for developing and leading a comprehensive music ministry that engages all ages within the congregation. This role includes selecting and arranging music for weekly worship services, leading choirs and other vocal/instrumental groups, and providing music for special services and events.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop Music Ministry:
- Create and implement a music ministry program that includes opportunities for all age groups.
- Design and oversee the music ministry’s strategic direction in alignment with the church’s mission and values.
- Music Selection and Arrangement:
- Select and arrange appropriate music for weekly worship services.
- Ensure the music aligns with the worship themes and enhances the overall service experience.
- Leadership and Rehearsals:
- Lead choir and other vocal/instrumental groups during rehearsals and performances.
- Provide direction and feedback to performers to ensure high-quality music presentations.
- Special Services and Events:
- Provide and arrange music for special services, events, and church-related functions.
- Collaboration:
- Work closely with the pastor and other church staff to plan and coordinate worship services.
- Ensure the music ministry complements the overall worship experience.
- Budget Management:
- Oversee and manage the music ministry budget.
- Ensure appropriate allocation of funds for music-related expenses.
- Volunteer Recruitment and Training:
- Recruit, train, and support volunteers to participate in the music department.
- Foster a positive and inclusive environment for volunteers.
- Music Library and Equipment:
- Maintain and organize the church’s music library and equipment.
- Ensure all music resources are up-to-date and in good working condition.
Qualifications:
- Strong background in music, including experience in choir direction and music arrangement.
- Proven ability to lead and inspire vocal and instrumental groups.
- Experience in managing budgets and coordinating with other church staff.
- Excellent organizational and communication skills.
- Ability to recruit, train, and support volunteers effectively.
